Meeting Types
Meetings are confidential, and we do not disclose whom we see or what we hear at meetings to anyone. Al-Anon meetings are open to anyone who wants to recover from the effects of someone else’s drinking. Those new to Al-Anon are encouraged to attend at least six meetings before making the decision if Al-Anon is right for them.
The fundamentals don’t change but some meetings focus on specific themes such as:
- Friends & Families Only - Limited to members and prospective members. These are persons who feel their lives have been or are being affected by alcoholism in a family member or friend.
- Families, Friends and Observers (Open Meeting) - For anyone interested in the family disease of alcoholism. Some groups invite members of the professional community to hear how the Al-Anon program aids in recovery.
- Electronic (Zoom Only)
- Hybrid (Zoom and In-Person)
- Beginners
- 12 Steps
- 12 Traditions
- Parents
- Adult Children
- Telephone
